EWMGA BOARD MEETING

NOV 11, 2014

This meeting of the Eagle Watch Men’s Golf Association (EWMGA) Board started at 6:00 pm in the Eagle Watch Club House.  Board members attending were Gary Janos (President), Jim Gould (Vice President), David Scott (Secretary), Erik Rosengren (Treasurer), Mike Putnam, Sergio Silva, Bob Smith and Bill Smith.  Absentees were Mike Bristow, Tony Jones, and Larry Terry.  There were no visitors at this meeting.

Erik presented the Treasurer’s Report depicting, following current income and expense calculations, a bank balance of $827.76 with only the cost of tonight’s refreshments to be paid.  He also reported that current 2014 EWMGA Membership is 119.

Review of the Night Golf Tournament held on November 7^th indicated that the players (20) felt it was successful.  The event was conducted slightly over budget.  Discussion suggested that next year’s tournament might realize greater participation if scheduled earlier in warmer weather.

The results of the Ryder Cup Match Play Tournament were discussed.  Good feedback was received from the participants.

Discussion was held in preparation for the 2015 Bloody Mary Open Tournament.  Jim Gould will be the chairman for this event.

It was agreed that we should consider the possibility of tournament sign-ups for singles and then arranging pairings in some events to attempt greater participation.  This will be further reviewed in our January meeting.

The nominating Committee reported that only two members had submitted for 2015 Board Elections in addition to the five incumbents whose office terms are expiring.  The Board members attending agreed that the ballot should be released with these seven names.  The voting period will expire on December 21^st.

Discussion was held regarding the establishment of a formal 2015 Operating Budget during the January Board meeting.

There was no additional new business presented and this meeting was adjourned at 6:40 pm.  It was decided that no Board meeting would be scheduled during December with any action items to be handled by e-mail, if necessary.  The next regularly scheduled Board meeting will be held on Tuesday night (January 13, 2015) starting at 6:00 pm.  This meeting will include election of officers and 2015 Tournament planning.
