EWMGA BOARD MEETING
NOVEMBER
9, 2010
The Eagle Watch Men’s Golf Association (EWMGA) Board meeting
was started at 6:00 pm in the Eagle Watch Hearth
restaurant. All Board members were present at this
meeting. Guests in attendance were Scott Szymoniak and Rick
Sandle of the Canongate/Eagle Watch staff.
Scott provided an update on the golf course projects
underway. He reported that the front nine cart path
restoration was nearing completion and extensive tree
removal near the paths is continuing. He also reported on
plans for the winter months for the greens and fairways.
Erik Rosengren presented the Treasurer’s Report indicating a
current bank balance of $491.34. Discussions were held
regarding the balances still due for payment from the
Member/Guest Tournament and for the 2011 member sign-ups.
Erik also reported that 2010 membership stands at 117.
Planning was developed for the EWMGA-sponsored
Superintendent’s Revenge Tournament scheduled for December 4th.
Bob Smith, Sergio Silva and Erik Rosengren will be
co-chairmen for this event which will be open to all Eagle
Watch golf members. This will be a fun tournament with
nightmare pin positions and oversized/undersized cups on the
greens. It will be an A-B-C-D shotgun scramble with
individual sign-ups ($40 per player) and teams assigned by
the co-chairmen. Chili and beer will be included in the
registration fee.
The upcoming election for 2011-2012 Board members was
reviewed. There are six (6) open positions to be filled
with the voting to be conducted from December 1st
to December 20th. There are ten (10) candidates
recommended by the Nominating Committee to be listed on the
ballot. Voting will be conducted on-line on our website and
by hardcopy ballots. An email will be distributed to all
members soliciting their votes.
There was no further new business presented and the meeting
was adjourned at 6:55 pm. The next scheduled Board meeting
is December 14th starting at 6:00 pm.
