EWMGA BOARD MEETING

MAY 20, 2014

This meeting of the Eagle Watch Men’s Golf Association (EWMGA) Board started at 6:00 pm in the Eagle Watch Club House.  Board members attending were Jim Gould (Vice President), Erik Rosengren (Treasurer), Mike Putnam, Sergio Silva, Bob Smith and Bill Smith.  Absentees were Gary Janos (President), David Scott (Secretary), Mike Bristow, Tony Jones and Larry Terry.

Erik presented the Treasurer’s Report depicting that our current bank account balance was $3,978.20 with no outstanding debts.  He also reported that current membership stands at 110.

The MGA Invitational Tournament has been rescheduled for June 14^th.  There are only 10 teams registered, so far, for this tournament.

The MGA Steak-n-Cigar Tournament, scheduled for June 19^th, was discussed.  It was agreed that this event can include EWMGA members and their guests as long as the guest has an established handicap.

Discussion was held on the Halloween Night Golf event scheduled for November 7^th.  We have apparently received both positive and negative inputs regarding this format.  It was agreed that the event chairpersons (Gary, Tony and Mike Bristow) should review these inputs and make a recommendation on holding this outing.

Serge suggested that we should recommend to Phil Suiter a change in format in the club-sponsored EW Member-member Tournament for next year.  The recommendation, based on inputs received, would be a Texas Scramble rather that Best Ball format.

EWMGA tournament prizes were discussed.  Inputs received indicate that the use

of Pro VI balls (or an interchangeable brand) are preferred for tee gifts.  Also discussed was the cash vs. shop credit payouts system with agreement reached that we continue shop credit awards to support the club.
