EWMGA BOARD MEETING
MAY 14, 2011
This Eagle Watch Men’s Golf
Association (EWMGA) Board meeting was started at 6:00 pm in
the Eagle Watch Club House. Board member attendees were Jim
Gould (Vice President), David Scott, Mark Dickson, Frank
Peters, Sergio Silva Bob Smith and Bruce Worthington.
Absentees were Gary Janos (President), Erik Rosengren
(Treasurer), Tony Jones and Larry Terry. No visitors were
in attendance.
The meeting was chaired by Jim in
the absence of Gary.
Erik provided, by email, the
Treasurer’s Report depicting a current bank balance of
$3,291.51 with all known debts paid. He also reported that
there are currently 114 EWMGA 2012 members.
The upcoming Canongate/Eagle Watch
Member-Member Tournament (May 19th & 20th)
was discussed regarding the Calcutta which will be run by
the EWMGA. The Calcutta rules and format were reviewed with
Tony Jones and Billy Morrow volunteering to conduct the team
auction on May 18th. The Board decided that the
team prior buyout feature would be utilized this year with
$500 established as the amount. A flyer covering the
Calcutta rules will be published and available at the
auction meeting.
Discussion was held regarding the
tee gift situation at the Crème of the Crop Tournament
held on April 28th & 29th. It is
necessary that we arrange to acquire or exchange some of the
tee gift vests due to proper sizes not being available for
all participants. Bob reported that he has discussed this
need with Scott Szymoniak (Canongate/Eagle Watch General
Manager) who indicated he can handle this request. The
Board decided to have Gary make these arrangements with
Scott.
Bob presented the proposed format
and budget for the One-Day Member-Guest Tournament
scheduled for June 23rd. It was decided that the
budget must be established based on either a break-even or
better basis with the EWMGA not to fund potential overruns.
No tee gifts will be provided for this tournament. The
format is to be Best Ball. Bob is to revise the budget and
format summaries and email to the Board for information.
Bob also reminded that the EWMGA/Bridgemill
Challenge Cup Tournament will be held on September 8th
& 9th.
There was no further new business
presented and this meeting was adjourned at 6:55 pm. The
next regularly scheduled EWMGA Board meeting will be held on
Tuesday night (June 12th) starting at 6:00
pm.
