EWMGA BOARD MEETING JUNE 11, 2013 This Eagle Watch Men’s Golf Association (EWMGA) Board meeting was started at 6:05 pm in the Eagle Watch Club House. Board members attending were Gary Janos (President), Jim Gould (Vice President), David Scott (Secretary), Frank Peters, Marc Reinecke and Sergio Silva. Absentees were Erik Rosengren (Treasurer), Tony Jones, Bob Smith, Larry Terry and Bruce Worthington. Phil Suiter (Head Golf Pro of Canongate/Eagle Watch) was also in attendance. Erik submitted the Treasurer’s Report depicting a bank balance of $3,533 after deposit of Crème of the Crop Tournament monies and payment to the club for the tournament Food and Beverage expenses. He also reported that 2013 EWMGA membership stands at 102. Gary reported on the financial results for the Crème of the Crop Tournament held on June 1st and June 2nd. Following subtracting expenses from income, this tournament only required a EWMGA contribution of $16 from our treasury. We also signed-up five new members who participated in this event. Reviewing the tournament, the players continue to enjoy the format however the quality of the F&B and the type of tee gift (shoe bag) received some negative feedback requiring our consideration for future events. The upcoming Steak-n-Cigar Classic Tournament on June 20th was reviewed. There are currently 33 players signed-up and a flyer will be distributed encouraging additional participation. The F&B arrangements have been finalized and raffle prizes are being identified. Phil discussed current course conditions and plans. He also covered the upcoming Club-sponsored Member/Member (June 29-30), Club Championships (July 20-21 and July 27-28) and Member/Guest (August 2-3-4) Tournaments. EWMGA agreed that it will conduct the Calcutta for the Member/Member Tournament on June 28th. Tony Jones and Bill Morrow will be contacted regarding handling this function. There was no further new business presented and the meeting was adjourned at 6:30 pm. The next EWMGA Board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday night (July 9th) starting at 6:00 pm.
